Compassionate Care Ministry Supported By Men’s Group

Men’s Fellowship Group member, Doug Herman, is leading the new Compassionate Care Ministry at St. Augustine’s Parish. He is ready to launch the ministry officially within the next few weeks. Doug is joined by ministry volunteers Ron Simpson, Dr. Tony Kerigan and Dave Weber - all Men’s Fellowship Group members. This involvement is another example of men living their faith by giving back to the community.

St. Augustine’s Compassionate Care Ministry

Bringing the healing power of Jesus to those who need it most

Compassionate Care Ministry Overview

The Compassionate Care Ministry at St. Augustine’s Parish has been formed to meet the great need within our parish for this ministry. Many of our fellow parishioners find themselves lonely, immobile, ill, grief stricken, frail or suffering.

Just as Jesus did, we hope to bring compassionate care in the form of companionship for those who require support.

We will serve participants in the program in a variety of ways including: telephone ministry, visits to participants homes and other interactions that focus on care.

During this Covid-19 pandemic, we’ll focus on our telephone ministry.

Interested in volunteering?

Our ministry will require volunteers who are interested in bringing companionship to program participants. Our volunteers will provide support in a compassionate manner – modelling their interactions after Jesus.
